Worth the Wait

The third in my series of Harry Potter wedding portraits, this one was a bit simpler than the others. I wanted to keep Hermione's dress as simple as possible (to emphasize her "brains over beauty" mentality) but also maintain that slight degree of "pop" visible in the other pieces.

As for Ron, a bit of retrospect was required. When it was mentioned that his eyes were blue in Deathly Hallows, I imagined the new set of dress robes Fred and George bought him in the Summer of '95 as being blue (for lack of fashion sense or otherwise, I figured Fred and George would want to keep things simple). Ron probably outgrew that set, but the color still works wonderfully on him.

The background is a direct embodiment of the title. Ron and Hermione's romance was (painfully) long in coming, but it was slowly kindled and stoked, like a roaring fire, until it culminated in a passionate kiss during Hogwarts' darkest hour. This background is symbolically representative of that warming love.
