The Hero Comes Home...

Description

Created using Game of Thrones Scene Maker on Doll Divine [link]

Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley on their wedding day.

A lot of thought and planning went into this piece, starting with getting inside the minds of the characters. Although their wedding was probably the happiest day of their lives (and also probably the most nerve-racking, at least for Harry), I'm willing to bet that Harry and Ginny would want to keep things low-key, if nothing else to avoid swarms of Daily Prophet reporters (ha ha!).

On that note, I borrowed ideas for Harry's outfit from my Bill and Fleur piece [link] but simplified the design and added green pieces to bring out the color of Harry's eyes. Ginny's dress was heavily influenced by the dress my cousin's girlfriend wore at their wedding (I've always loved that long-gloved look) and I added a very subtle pattern of butterflies to give the white gown just a little bit of pop. The brown background was chosen to bring out the color of Ginny's eyes.

Harry's hair was a fun part to work out. I know his hair is always messy (and Ginny probably loves it like that), but for this occasion I imagine Harry would borrow some of that Sleekeazy's Hair Potion Hermione used for the Yule Ball, if only to please his prospective mother-in-law (he he!). I wanted to deck Ginny out with jewelry but also wanted to make her different from what Fleur was wearing (see link above). A few simple pearl pieces fit the bill nicely.

Harry's glasses and scar were another matter entirely. After an unsuccessful (and rather tedious) attempt to replicate glasses using the pieces available in Game of Thrones I used the editing tools available in the program Preview to make them as well as the scar.

The one major downside to this piece was Ginny's gloves. I had to use two separate components to make them, and the shades of white didn't exactly match up. Nonetheless, I am pleased with the result, and I hope you like it too :)

Thanks to you, I tried the Game of Thrones Scene Maker myself. I'd wish there were other weapons than just the sword (I would need a rapier, a staff and a mace), but it is fun ...

Most fun is to use it for entirely different characters which have nothing to do with Game of Thrones.
Very nice idea to try with Harry Potter. It even looks like him and Ginny ...
